Warringah

Sydney's Home of Recreation

Warringah Council administers an area of 152 square km on Sydney’s northern beaches, extending from Manly in the south to Pittwater in the north and inland to the Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park.

Gen.a was engaged by Warringah Council to develop a new brand strategy, architecture, identity and style guide and applications for Warringah and Warringah Council, applied across the full portfolio of Council assets and communications.

Annual community research conducted by the organisation in 2011 indicated there were issues with the brand health of Warringah Council. There was a particular need to address the inconsistencies across the perception of the Council’s services, the Council itself and the broader Warringah place brand.

The brand strategy and identity developed by Gen.a established a clear and fresh way for Warringah to express itself as a place, and build pride and a sense of belonging in the community. At the same time it provides a new platform for Warringah Council to better communicate its role in contributing to the area’s quality of life, promoting sustainable development, and protecting the area’s unique and precious coastal and bushland environment.
