Local Government NSW

Marking a New Era in Local Government

Local Government is one of the largest industries in NSW, spending approximately $8 billion per year and managing non-financial assets (infrastructure and land) worth $89 billion, as well as employing more than 50,000 staff.

In August 2012, a landmark decision was made to form one association to represent local government within NSW and in March 2013, Local Government NSW (LGNSW) was officially established.

The official merging of the two associations provided an impetus for change and an opportunity to position LGNSW in line with the needs of their audiences and stakeholders. As the peak body for one of the largest industries in NSW, it was critical that the newly merged association launched with a fresh new approach and look, signifying change and a demonstration of unity.

Gen.a was engaged to create a new brand identity to help LGNSW be recognisable as a respected, forward-thinking voice for Local Government in NSW.
