David Faulks
Managing Director and Partner
David is an internationally recognised leader in brand, communications and legacy strategy. An innovator in creating economic and social outcomes through informed brand strategy, he has led high-profile place and corporate branding projects in Australia and around the world.
In Australia, David has been the strategic lead on the development of brand and communications strategies for Gen.a clients including: Virgin Mobile, Virgin Money, the Australia Awards, the Australian Sports Commission, NewsLifeMedia, eftpos, Showbiz, Sydney Motorsport Park, Panthers Group, KMPG Corporate Citizenship, G:Link, National Home Doctor Service, the National Centre of Indigenous Excellence, Local Government NSW, the ACT Government, Double Bay Chamber of Commerce; and Penrith City, Parramatta City, Warringah and Wyong Shire Councils. He was also instrumental in the strategic development of new festivals within the Sydney events calendar including Vivid, Crave and Parramasala, in support of Events NSW (now Destination NSW).
With extensive international experience driving major creative initiatives, David has been the strategic lead on several high-level international projects for Gen.a. These have included global brand and communication strategies for public and private sector clients including: Fairtrade International; the UN’s International Trade Centre (ITC) and World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO); the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States; Pacific Islands Trade & Invest; Cellulant and Virgin Group. He has also played a leading role on nation branding and sectoral development projects in Bangladesh, Botswana, Jamaica, New Zealand, The Gambia, Tonga and Zanzibar.
As an expert on nation branding, event legacy and marketing, David has led brand legacy projects for the Olympic Games in Sydney, Salt Lake City, Athens and Vancouver; the Cricket World Cup in the Caribbean; and the Rugby World Cup in Australia and New Zealand. He has also presented to leadership groups in more than 20 countries including South Africa, China, Brazil, India, Mexico, Singapore, Vietnam and the UK.
Prior to starting his own business, David worked for 14 years in executive roles at the Australian Trade Commission (Austrade) where he gained a broad international business perspective and a solid understanding of global trade and development.
David was also a Director on the UN Global Compact board in Australia between 2011 and 2013.

Nick Morgan
Executive Creative Director and Partner
Working closely with business leaders to facilitate positive business outcomes, Nick brings unique insight, creativity and perspective to Gen.a’s clients. He leads a challenging creative process linked to return on investment.
Nick has led Gen.a’s creative development of complex branding projects for clients including: Fairtrade International, the UN’s International Trade Centre, Brand Botswana, Virgin Live, Virgin Mobile, eftpos, NewsLifeMedia, Australian Racing Drivers’ Club, the Centenary of Canberra, Events NSW (now Destination NSW), G-Link, Ovvio and the Panthers Group.
Originally from the United Kingdom, Nick arrived in Australia in 1991 and founded what soon became one of Australia’s most-awarded creative agencies, Moon Design. Over the next 12 years he led the agency to become a successful multi-disciplinary design business and the creative partner to some of Australia’s most highly-regarded and successful brands including: Qantas, Westpac, BT Financial Services, the Sydney Theatre Company, Country Road, Westfield, NRL, Jetstar and several international brands including Orange and 3 Mobile.
Nick oversaw the development and implementation a major re-branding and brand architecture reconfiguration for Australia’s national airline, Qantas.
Nick has significant international experience with corporate clients such as Virgin Group, Nokia, Carrefour and Alliance Boots.
He was previously the Executive Group Creative Director of Visual Communications for STW Communications Group (WPP) before becoming a Partner of Gen.a in 2008.
Nick graduated with 1st class Honors in Graphic Design and two prestigious D&AD awards to his name from Preston Polytechnic. Throughout his career, he has been awarded numerous Australian and international design awards and was a judge on the National Writers and Art Directors awards for 10 years.

Jacky Charbonneau
Associate Director
Dr. Jacky Charbonneau is a leading international expert in branding and marketing. With more than 30 years’ experience across the public and private sectors, Jacky brings his specific expertise in Branding for Development with not-for-profit and multilateral organisations to his role as Associate Director with Gen.a.
Prior to working as an independent consultant, Jacky worked with the United Nations’ International Trade Centre (ITC) in Geneva, Switzerland. During his 10-year tenure at the ITC, Jacky was part of the management team and has implemented more than 50 ITC projects and large development programs across the developing world. In 2008, he created the ITC’s Enterprise Competitiveness practice, leading a team of 28 staff from 19 nationalities until his retirement in 2015.
In this role, Jacky established the ITC’s Export Marketing, Branding and E-solutions practice (using digital media for B2B/B2C client interface) within the Enterprise Competitiveness section. Between 2004-2007, he was the ITC’s Senior Adviser – Export Packaging. During this time he implemented more than 20 projects across developing countries, dealing with packaging improvement including structural packaging, graphic design and labeling.
Jacky first met Gen.a while leading the ITC’s Change Management initiative throughout 2007-2008. As part of this process, Gen.a was responsible for developing the ITC’s brand strategy and identity and has since worked with Jacky’s team at the ITC on several international projects related to place branding and place of origin products. These branding projects included extensive use of digital means (e-solutions) for the purposes of branding, not only for communication and promotion, across nation and sectoral branding projects in Botswana, Jordan, Zanzibar and Bangladesh amongst others.
Prior to joining the ITC,Jacky worked in the private sector for 24 years where he held senior international management positions with global corporations including: International Marketing and Business Development for the Cryovac Division of Sealed Air Corporation (packaging of food and beverages) and Vice President Global Brands at JTI (fast moving consumer goods) with direct responsibility for the company’s global brands. Jacky has strong expertise in Result Based Management and a clear understanding that the branding journey needs to yield significant returns on investment. He is an excellent communicator, multi-lingual, and adept at dealing with cross-cultural sensitivities with the ability to interact with the highest levels of hierarchy at company, institutional and government levels. QUALIFICATIONS: PhD in International Marketing Management, Paris Dauphine University ESSEC Executive MBA Diploma, ESSEC Business School.

Stuart Hughes
General Manager
With a background in campaign and brand development, Stuart brings more than 10 years’ experience in client management to his role as Account Director at Gen.a.
As a strategic thinker, his analytical and pragmatic approach has been instrumental in developing brand-focused solutions for key clients including: Penrith City Council, Penrith Progression, Ovvio, Home Doctor Service and a large-scale public-private partnership in the transport sector.
Since his arrival to Australia from the United Kingdom in 2005, Stuart has been involved in the development of strategic brand projects across a range of clients spanning the corporate, FMCG, pharmaceutical and packaging sectors. He has worked both nationally and internationally with leading brands including Coca-Cola, Bio Rad, Kao, GlaxoSmithKline, British American Tobacco, Eden Brae, Nestlé, Cerebos and Unilever.
Stuart has a holistic understanding of the brand workflow process developed through his extensive experience across the entire brand management process - from strategy to concept design, creative development and production.

Lucille Gosford
Account Manager
As part of Gen.a’s strategy and account service team, Lucille’s role supports our client engagement and management, content production, research and data management functions.
In an account management capacity, Lucille has worked with clients including Virgin Mobile Australia, Local Government NSW and the Australian Government’s international scholarships program, the Australia Awards. She has also managed sectoral branding projects in Bangladesh and Zanzibar.
Lucille was also part of the editorial team on the International Trade Forum – the quarterly magazine of the UN’s International Trade Centre and Gen.a’s own White Paper magazine. She has also provided research support for projects including Parramatta City Council, Penrith City Council and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
Lucille has a Bachelor of Communications (Social Inquiry) / Bachelor of Laws from the University of Technology, Sydney.
