David is acknowledged as a world leader in brand, communications and legacy campaigns. He is an innovator in marrying tactical commercial solutions with government and private sector stakeholders.

David has extensive experience in international trade, brand and communications projects. He is also acknowledged as a world leader in legacy projects. David’s capacity to drive major creative initiatives has recently led to several new high-level international engagements for Gen.a including Brand, Certification Mark and Communication strategies for Fairtrade International, a new brand and communications strategy for Pacific Islands Trade & Invest, and a nation branding and development project in Botswana.

As an individual consultant, David has also worked on the design of the new identity, organisational change programme and communications platform for the UN’s International Trade Centre and the design of a new trade and investment agency in Tonga (associated with AusAID). He has also worked on major brand and communication projects in Jamaica and New Zealand. In Australia, he led the strategic development for new festivals within the Sydney events calendar in conjunction with Events NSW; developed the brand strategy for the Australia Awards and has been the strategic lead on projects for Penrith City Council, Parramatta City Council, News Life Media, Showbiz and KMPG Corporate Citizenship.

Prior to starting his own business, David worked for 14 years in executive roles at the Australian Trade Commission, providing a broad international business perspective and a solid understanding of global trade. 

David has personally developed and led legacy and brand projects for the Olympic Games in Sydney, Salt Lake City, Athens and Vancouver, the Cricket World Cup in the Caribbean, and Rugby World Cups in Australia and New Zealand. He has presented on nation branding, event legacy and marketing in a further 20 countries around the world including South Africa, China, Brazil, India, Mexico and the UK.

David is also a Director on the UN Global Compact board in Australia.
